Features

  • SVG to PNG, JPG or WebP at any width, sharp at every size, with transparent, white or custom background.
  • Paste SVG code or upload an .svg file.
  • Image to SVG with real vector tracing of 2 to 32 colours, or an embedded image.
  • Copy the SVG code or download the file.
  • Runs in your browser: no upload, no signup.

Trace or embed: what is the difference?

  • Trace finds the shapes and colours in your picture and redraws them as vector paths. The result scales without blur. It works well for logos, icons and flat illustrations, and poorly for photos.
  • Embed stores your original picture inside an SVG file. It is quick and exact, but it is still a normal picture inside, so it is not a real vector and it blurs when enlarged a lot.

Good to know

Tracing is automatic, so complex logos may need touch-ups in a vector editor such as Inkscape or Illustrator. Fonts used inside an SVG you convert to PNG must be installed on your computer or converted to outlines, otherwise your browser may replace them. SVG files that load other files from the internet may not draw completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert an SVG to PNG?

Open the SVG to PNG / JPG / WebP tab, add your SVG file or code, choose PNG, set the width and click Convert SVG. Then download the image.

Can I choose the size of the PNG?

Yes. Enter a width in pixels. The height follows the shape of the SVG. Because SVG is a vector format, the picture stays sharp at any size.

Can I convert a JPG or PNG to a real SVG?

Yes, with the Trace method. It converts your picture into vector shapes. It works best on simple graphics with few colours. Photos are not a good fit.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Conversion runs in your browser. Only the tracing engine script is loaded from a public content network the first time you trace an image.

Why is my transparent PNG white when I save as JPG?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid colour. Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

Why does my SVG look different after conversion?

Your browser draws the SVG. If it uses fonts that are not installed, or loads external images or styles, it may look different. Convert text to outlines in your SVG editor first.
