Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my mobile score look lower than desktop?
The mobile test uses a slower phone and a slower network, so it is stricter. Google uses mobile-first indexing, so treat the mobile score as the main one.
Why does the score change between tests?
Server load, network and third-party scripts change from moment to moment. Run the test two or three times and look at the trend.
I see a message about a quota. What should I do?
The free Google service limits how many tests can run each minute for everyone. Wait a minute and try again. You can also paste your own free Google API key into the optional box.
What is a good score?
90 to 100 is good, 50 to 89 needs improvement and below 50 is poor.
Why is there no real user data?
Google shows real user data only for pages with enough Chrome visits. New or small sites often have none. The lab test still works.
How can I make my site faster?
Compress and resize images, use modern formats like WebP, turn on caching and compression, remove unused scripts and use a CDN.
