Frequently Asked Questions
What is an IP address?
It is a number that identifies a device or server on the internet. Websites have IP addresses too.
Can I find the exact address of a person from their IP?
No. An IP shows the area of the internet provider, not a house or a person.
Why does my IP show a different city?
Your provider may route your traffic through another city, or you may be using a VPN or mobile data.
Why does my website show a CDN location?
If you use Cloudflare or another CDN, the IP belongs to the CDN. The real server location is hidden.
What is an ASN?
An Autonomous System Number identifies a network such as an internet provider or a hosting company.
Do you store the IP addresses I search?
No. The lookup runs in your browser with a public location service. We do not save the searches.
