Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still need twitter: tags now that the site is called X?
Yes. X still reads the twitter: meta tags. If they are missing, it falls back to Open Graph tags.
Which card type should I use?
Use the large image card for articles and landing pages. Use the summary card for pages where a small logo or square picture fits better.
Is twitter:site required?
No. It only links the card to your account. It is optional.
How do I test the card?
Publish the page and use our Open Graph Checker, or paste the link into a draft post on X to see the preview.
Why does the image not show?
Check that the image address is public, starts with https and the file is under 5 MB.
Can I use it with WordPress?
Yes. Many SEO plugins set these tags for you. You can also add the code with a header snippet for one page.
